Bawn comes from the Irish word badhún, which describes the strongholds built around castles and farmhouses in historic Ireland.

Anthony Mc Ginn, AIA

Principal Architect

Anthony is a registered architect in both New York and Connecticut. Raised in Ireland, he began his career as an architect at O’Donnell + Tuomey Architects, before moving to New York to focus on residential projects at Lang Architecture. He founded Bawn in 2024 with his father.

Fascinated by ringforts and passage tombs, Anthony works to integrate his buildings into their surroundings, placing great value on nature and landscape. When beginning a new project, Anthony relies on instinct, working to imagine what feels right for the particular site, and using hand sketches to create something truly bespoke to the landscape and client.
